Madeleine Alessandri is the UK Deputy National Security Advisor responsible for Intelligence, Security and Resilience. She joined government service in 1988 and has held a wide variety of positions in the Diplomatic Service and in National Security both in the UK and overseas. She took up her current role in July 2018. Madeleine studied Economics with International Relations at University of St Andrews. She is married with 2 grown up children, a dog, cat and several thousand bees. She was made a Commander of Order of Saint Michael and Saint George (CMG) in 2017.
